Management Bios

Brennan Mulcahy is the Chief Executive Officer of American Solar Direct. Brennan co-founded American Solar Direct with the aim of using his energy industry management experience to make renewable energy accessible to homeowners. Prior to founding American Solar Direct, Brennan was CEO and founder of a North America-wide provider of energy contracts to the residential and commercial markets. Under Brennan’s management this previous venture reached a billion dollars in annual sales in fewer than ten years of operation, and underwent a highly successful IPO in 2001. Brennan is the driving force behind American Solar Direct’s consultative in-home sales approach, lending his over twenty years of direct marketing experience to perfecting each customer experience.

 

Ravi Thuraisingham is the President and Chief Financial Officer of American Solar Direct.  Ravi manages all aspects of the company’s operations.  He has a wealth of energy industry knowledge, beginning with his degree in Nuclear Engineering.  He later applied his business acumen to launching large-scale energy businesses; he launched retail energy businesses collectively worth over a hundred million dollars, and created a wholesale trading operation for a mid-sized utility.  With nearly 20 years of varied energy industry experience, Ravi now applies his unique perspective to the future of the energy industry: solar power.  

 

 

 

 

Peninah Brickman is Chief Regulatory Counsel at American Solar Direct.  Peninah’s significant experience in regulated environments and working with utility partners paves the way for American Solar Direct’s foray into new markets and service areas.  Prior to joining American Solar Direct, Peninah’s expertise enabled a major energy retailer to successfully expand its footprint across seven new jurisdictions over the course of half a decade. Peninah brings with her a unique skill in understanding how to balance the interests of the company’s clients, investors, employees and regulators.

 

 

 

 

 

Geoff Atkins is Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at American Solar Direct. Geoff is responsible for marketing, sales and strategy for ASD. Prior to his current role, Geoff was Senior Vice President and General Manager at IMAX Corporation (IMAX, IMX.TO) responsible for all operations and business development. Geoff spent over 16 years as IMAX sales manager to the Theatre Development group where he was instrumental in the evolution of IMAX’s sales and marketing strategy which lead to the largest theatre contracts in the company's history, including a 100-theatre joint venture agreement with AMC Entertainment, and other multiple theatre agreements with Regal Entertainment Group, Racimec, RAVE Cinema Group and Cinemark USA. 

 

 

Andrew Schneider is Chief Information Officer at American Solar Direct. Andrew provides vision and leadership for developing technology initiatives for ASD and implementing them into Operations. In his previous role as CIO with a major energy retailer, Andrew took the startup and led the development of their systems, processes and infrastructure to eventually transition to the leading North America retailer with over 3 million customers. Prior to that, Andrew lead the IT group for a major multi-national engineering and architectural firm. With over 20 years of IT leadership, Andrew brings his strength in technology and business processes to our solar business.
